Japanese Rolled Omelette

It is partly sweet and mixed with soy sauce, and dashi stock. Try making authentic Japanese food with our classic Japanese omelette recipe. 

Ingredients

Getting It Done

  1. Take a small bowl, add dashi, soy sauce, salt, water and sugar. Mix them all together until everything is dissolved.
  2. Take one medium bowl and beat the eggs. Then, add the seasoning mixture and mix them all together as well.
  3. Take a tamagoyaki pan and heat it on a medium-high heat. Glaze a thin layer of oil on the pan.
  4. Now, pour a third of the egg mixture into the pan and then quickly cover the entire pan with egg mixture. Once the egg mixture is half-set, slowly roll the egg.
  5. Let the rolled egg still be in the pan, pour another batter of the egg mixture. Lift the egg roll a bit and let the mixture flow under the roll. Once the egg mixture is set, roll the omelette again. Keep repeating this same process until the egg mixture is finished.
  6. Cut the roll into bite- sized pieces.
  7. Your Japanese Rolled Omelette (Tamagoyaki) is ready. Enjoy!
