Recycling Agriculture In Japan

The Process.

ISE Foods aims to make effective use of the various by-products generated during the production of eggs.
An example is the production of fertilizer from chicken droppings.

Chicken droppings recovered from poultry houses are processed at compost plants. They are reborn as “ISE Green,” a high-quality organic fertilizer.
Hens raised in a healthy manner without the use of antibiotics produce delicious and safe eggs, is another reason to be turned into high-quality fertilizer.
This fertilizer improves soil quality so that crop plants can firmly take root, and it helps grow delicious rice and vegetables.

Recycling agriculture involves not only environment considerations, but also taste and safety considerations.
IcircleSE Foods is committed to various activities that promote better environmental recycling, with “harmonious coexistence with the community and environments” as the first priority.

Action.1 Collecting poultry manure to produce organic fertilizer

We raise healthy birds to lay high-quality eggs. We collect droppings from birds grown up with nutrient-rich feeds with good sanitation management and also in the totally environmentally controlled windowless poultry houses that keep out noxious organisms and contaminants such as bacteria. Chicken droppings are automatically collected when they fall on the belt conveyors running under the chicken cages, keeping them away from eggs and hens.

Action.2 Turning manure into fertilizer —Composting work flow—

The composted product obtained through a process of fermentation is called compost. In order to make the collected droppings into stable fertilizer, we ferment them for about 80 days in the plant, reducing their water content to 20%. During fermentation, the droppings are periodically aerated to promote aerobic bacteria (bacteria that grow in the presence of oxygen). As aerobic bacteria increase, odors are suppressed and quality improves. Further, fertilizer made from chicken manure is rich in phosphorus, which is said to promote healthy crop roots and increase favor fruit production with higher sugar content.

Action.3 Recycling as a high-quality organic fertilizer “ISE Green”

Our fermented fertilizer is marketed as “ISE Green”. ISE Green achieves 6 “free’s”.

1.Antibacterial agent free
We do not use any antibiotics in our feeds.
2.Pesticide free
Since flies hardly occur due to the windowless environment, the use of insecticides is minimal and below the detection limit during inspections.
3.Harmful pathogen free
Our fertilizer is free of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus.(in-house laboratory, Japan Food Research Laboratories)
4.Parasite free
Our fertilizer is completely free of parasite eggs such as roundworm and coccidia.
5.Seed free
Seeds of weeds, grass and so on are killed during the fermentation process, making the fertilizer completely seed free.
6.Wood free
We do not adjust the moisture level by adding sawdust or bark material and others.

Action.4 Improving the soil into a place where microbes can flourish

Supplementation of soil with our highly nutritious ISE Green makes the soil richer with microorganisms that contribute to the decomposition of organic matter. Through the influence of microorganisms, the roots of crop plants become strong, and depleted populations of organisms such as pond snails, frogs, spiders, crayfish and others can make a comeback. Soil where living things can flourish in turn produce vigorous crops.

Action.5 Vitalizing rice, vegetables and fruit

ISE Green, which contributes to the regeneration of soil, is approved and used by many producers. Vegetables, rice, and fruits produced with ISE Green are juicy and sweet. ISE Green is a product endorsed by many organic farmers.
